The Nevada Gaming Commission recently approved the game of Royal Hold’em poker
to be played in Nevada casinos. The relatively new game, described as the
‘world’s fastest poker game’ is a variation of Texas Hold’em. Royal Hold’em will
be available to play at Nevada casinos immediately, as well as the regular Texas
Hold’em of course. Its a hot game and a lot of hands are won on the last card
dealt and a Royal Flush or a bad beat hand can happen with the turn of a card.
Exciting stuff!
The Norwegian Gambling Commission recently published statistics claiming that
244 000 of its citizens use Internet gambling. The commission takes a very dim
view of gambling, however it seems its citizens do not share the same view, with
a 6.1 percent growth in the online gambling market in 2007. The Commission
revealed that Norwegians spent Euro 961 million online, of which 82.9 percent or
Euro 797 million went to foreign operators. The Norwegian Lotto was said to be
the preferred online game by 48 percent of the sample, followed by online Poker
at 28 percent.
