WSOP 2008 poker record breaker
The 2008 World Series of Poker holds the record for the largest poker series in
world history. It broke last year’s total entrants high by 4,432, with 52,720
entries recorded. Last year’s total prize pool record was also broken by
$20,880,030, with $180,676,248 won, or to be won via the main event, by players
in the Series’ 55 events.

World Series of Poker Event 54
The World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold’em Event 54 commences today at the
Rio Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas and plays through to Monday 14th July.
Players will begin play with $20,000 in Tournament Chips. Each level will last
120 minutes. Breaks will be every level and last 20 minutes.
